ARRIVAL

The Transition Protocol

Arrival is sensory overload. Every new smell and sound forces the brain into overdrive. One animal might react by pacing and refusing to eat, while another becomes "velcro," terrified to let you out of their sight. Others simply crash, sleeping for days as the exhaustion of survival finally takes over. This protocol decodes these signals.

Using the biological framework of our 90 Days of Logic, we guide you through the delicate chemistry of Decompression—navigating introductions and distinguishing between a sick animal and an exhausted one. The goal is simple: to turn that initial chaos into a permanent foundation of safety.

Safety is the switch that turns off the survival mode

DEEP DIVE: THE LOGIC OF ARRIVAL

1. THE ADRENALINE DROP

(The Safety Crash)

The Logic: Survival takes energy. When an animal realizes they are safe, the adrenaline holding them up disappears, and they often "crash." We explain why deep sleep, lethargy, or hiding in the first 24-48 hours isn't sickness—it is the biological reset button being pressed.

2. THE INTRODUCTION HIERARCHY

(Scent Before Sight)

The Logic: Even if the new animal is friendly, the residents might not be ready. We teach the universal order of introduction: Scent first, Sound second, Sight third. This hierarchy prevents territorial shock and allows curiosity to build safely before the physical meeting happens.

3. THE RESIDENT ANIMAL

(Protecting the Flock)

The Logic: Your current pet did not ask for a sibling. We discuss the psychology of the "Resident" animal and how to maintain their resources and routine so they view the new arrival as a neutral addition rather than a threat to their survival.

4. THE "REALIZATION" SHIFT

(When the Personality Emerges)

The Logic: The animal you see on Day 1 (exhausted/relieved) is not the animal you will see on Day 3 or Day 30. Once the fatigue wears off and the belly is full, the true energy (and the anxiety) often surfaces. We explain how to prepare for this shift so you aren't caught off guard.

5. INDIRECT ENGAGEMENT

(The Magnetism of Curiosity)

The Logic: Direct attention creates pressure; indirect action creates curiosity. We teach you how to become a "Magnetic Center." Whether you are lowering your profile (lying on the floor) to build trust with a fearful rescue, or using rhythmic movement (dancing and singing) to engage a curious bird, the rule is the same: Focus on yourself. When you stop chasing and start enjoying your own activity, you create a vacuum of curiosity that pulls them in.

A Personal Note

I’m building this ecosystem by hand, piece by piece. Since it’s just me behind the blueprints, I’m always open to hearing your concerns and evolving this design with your feedback. As we grow, I’m planning to add a dedicated Q&A section to help tackle the specific logic of our pets' lives.

All I ask is that you bring those words with kindness. Let’s keep this community as respectful as the animals we love.

Thank you so much 😊
